‘Artist at Resort’ is a successful residence/ coaching/ mentoring-project. The chosen dance-artists are supported with input of dramaturgy, choreography and organization by Bert Gstettner & team. The atists are invited to show their last AAR pieces or a current production.

The AAR Term 10 Special Edition is thus a cross-section through the nine residence periods of the past four years.

Programm 21st, 22nd and 23rd of November

Did U Hear
Dance, Choreography: Howool Baek
Composition, Live-Music: Matthias Erian
First Edition: Residency@Im_flieger, November 2013

For AAR Term 4 the korean dancer Howool Baek created the performance called “Nothing“, which was successfully shown around the world. In her latest work she was inspired by the poem “The rose that grew from concrete”, written by 2PAC, American Hiphop rapper: “Proving nature’s laws wrong it learned to walk without having feet. Funny it seems but by keeping its dreams, it learned to breathe fresh air. Long live the rose that grew from concrete when no one else even cared.“
It is focused on the expressions of the body except the face. The poem is represented by each possibility of the body expression and movement by using the back side of the body only.

When Helen Schoene was a dancer she used to repeat herself all the time (New version)
Concept, performance, text and object: Helen Schoene
First Edition: AAR TERM 8, November 2013

A set of questions and half answers, of beginnings and appendices, of purposefully unmade decisions and open ends examine an unsteady love affair with dance as an art form. The audience is called to exercise their agility in recognising possible ways of reading the overlay of writing, voice and movement. Hereby the structure of a book forms a means of orientation and binds the overflowing material. A question arises at the end: Is Helen Schoene object or protagonist of the plot?

relate two trust (New version)
Dance, Choreography: Leonie Humitsch und Silvia Salzmann
First Edition: AAR TERM 6, April 2012

Where does trust starts, what is it all about and in which situations trust is inevitable? How do you lose trust and how do you get it back? In „relate two trust“ Leonie Humitsch and Silvia Salzmann follow these questions, focus on the opportunities and skills that the topic „trust“ needs and askes for especially in a physical way and how this can be transformed into moving expressions

Programm 5th, 6th and 7th December

Micro Boom
Concept, Performance: Michael Turinsky und Cornelia Voglmayr
AAR Term 10 Premiere

Boom as aesthetic experience. Together weaving a carpet of sounds to float on, Cornelia Voglmayr and Michael Turinsky set out to find the small scale boom and by the way, through a free interplay of forces, they deal with some fundamental questions concerning limitation and reciprocity, a-synchronicity and temporal organization, sounds and noise, heaviness and flourishing.

Travelling*Heart II - pure
Performance: Kanako Sako
Performance, Double Bass: Matija Schellander
Concept, Choreography: Bert Gstettner
First edition: within the exhibition „21. Century Angel“ by Eva Petric, June - Sept 2014

heart beats the rythm / taps the beat / an organs orchestra concert / conducted by heart / heart is good, heart is beautiful, / is so very true / so true as ever / an aching heart

Travelling*Heart was first shown among the installation of Eva Petric at Bildraum 07. This second part “pure“ is a further processing of the choreographic material, which shows new ways in the relationship between dance- and music-movement without the installation.

The Runner – Level 2
Concept, Performance: Matthias Mollner
First Edition The Runner: AAR TERM 9, April 2014

Escaped from the overheated plain, I stand naked in an unknown world. I am excited. There is a scent of adventure in the air. I love adventures. I gather some clothes and tuck time under my arm.
Then I set out.
