I am curious about the unknown. Where can I be wild and free and where can I ba all by myself? What other worlds are there beside ours? What does the wild side of me - can I let it dance?“

The story is about Maxie, a young adventuress who runs away from home and ends up on the island „where the wild things are“. She encounters strange creatures she had never seen before and their behaviour as well as her own fantasies and inner monsters. Will she stay on the island? Will she continues her journey? Or is it just a wild dream?

A children's ensemble of seven (age 7-11) is playing together with three professional dancers, acrobats and musicians. The new creation by Bert Gstettner Wilde*Welten based on Wild*Things (2015) and is inspired by the book of Maurice Sendak Where the wild things are. It's a timeless story about children's desire to break out of a everyday life routine. Leaving the real world behind to reach and to experience the unknown, the night, the fantasy world.
