Fragmente*Liebe is a choreography for 4 performers. It is inspired by the author Roland Barthes and his book A lover's discours. Fragments, which consists of 80 parts or so called word figures. The choreographer spins the author's poststructuralist claim further, condenses the texts and brings them into action. A selection out of 80 core statements and passages is brought into a process between the players. The impulse-giving element for the choreography is "fragment", understood as a building block or as a splinter of a lost or reassemblable whole.
Fragment 45: Declaration of Love
"Language is a skin: I rub my language against another.
It's like I have words instead of fingers or fingers at the ends of my words.
My language trembles with desire." (Roland Barthes)
Production was originally planned for 2018/19 but was postponed during the coronavirus pandemic. With an invitation to the Zeitkunstfestival 2025, which took place at Schrattenthal Castle under the topic Alphabet of Love, a first version was realized and presented as a preview.
"Dieses Tanztheater (Anm. Fragmente*Liebe) mit der Schauspielerin Lilly Prohaska und einem Tänzerpaar, das Erinnerungen reflektiert, ist ein weiteres Beispiel für die Vielfalt und das hohe Niveau der Wiener Tanzszene." Silvia Kargl, KURIER

"… the subject of love tries to achieve the 'being of the other'. In love, the subject goes beyond himself, beyond his narcissism. In the sexual sphere, they enter into a
relationship with themselves, mediated by the other. In love, on the other hand, the mediation by the other is valuable in itself. This is what the love encounter consists of. They assail the other in order to let him exist with them as he is." (In praise of love. Alain Badiou)
